Mad Fox Presents Two Irish Style St. Patrick's Day Brews

On Sunday afternoon, Mad Fox hosted a St. Patrick's day celebration. The event features live music and two new Irish themed beers on tap. The festivities kicked off a few days early with the tapping of the St. James Irish Dry Stout. Then on Sunday right before the party, they tapped the Rock Star Red, an Irish Red Ale. Here's all you need to know about these special limited time Irish choices.

Brewer's Description: Irish-style red ale brewed with English pale and crystal malts with a touch of roasted barley to yield a brew that is deep garnet in color with toffee/caramel-like flavors and just a hint of roastiness in the finish.  This brew has just a hint of hops and is very much malt accented. The beer was on special for $3.75 all afternoon long. I'm not a big fan of Irish Red Ales, but I am a huge fan of the other new beer, the Irish Dry Stout. The St. James as they call it, is Mad Fox's answer to Guinness and was just tapped on Friday.  Both beers are $5.75 regular price and $3.75 during happy hour (Everyday, 3pm-7pm). Here's some info on the St. James, only available on cask.

Brewer's Description: A Stout beer in the style of the great Irish brews made with Pale, Black and Chocolate malts with a heavy use of Roasted Barley to dry out the palate and lend a very roasty finish to this beer.  A very malt accented brew that is lightly hopped with the English hop varietal First Gold.  This beer is jet black in color and is unfiltered.  (via Mad Fox)

The event itself was fun with live music by the Justin Trawick Band and their typical Sunday Brunch. If you want to try these beers you should get down to MF as soon as possible before they are gone! I've already took down quite a few.

  1. Wow, these St. Patrick's Day Brews look great. I am glad that you had such wonderful time in this event. I also love international Brews. A grand brewery event had been organized at the domestic lofty spaces and I truly enjoyed a lot in this event with my friends.
