Burgers At Mike's Deli

We do a lot of talking about beer here and some people wonder if we ever eat food. Well on occasion we do add some solid items to our liquid diet, and we have some lunch in the Little City. I finally decided to forgo the breakfast (available all day) and chow down on one of their hamburgers.

Mike's offers up 7 different main burgers, the ability to create your own burger, and sometimes has specialty burgers available as a daily special. Your standards includes a cheeseburger, patty melt, mushroom swiss burger, bacon cheddar burger, grilled ham & swiss burger, fried egg and bacon burger, and blackened avocado burger. The basic cheeseburger runs for $5.50 and the more topped burgers run as high as $7.00. The special below came with fries and a Coke, so it was $8.50.

The main toppings include lettuce, tomato, and mayo, and the burgers are served with Ruffles chips and a pickle on the side. There are other free toppings that are available for their other sandwiches that you can probably add as well. There are several choices of cheese too (Swiss, Cheddar, American, Provelone, Pepperjack, Muenster, Vegan). You can replace the chips with fries for an extra $1.50.

I went with the fried egg and bacon burger (because I'm obsessed with egg burgers). The burger was a pretty good size, and while it may look too big in the picture, it is not hard to cram into your mouth. The best part of the burgers at Mike's is that the bun is fluffy, large, and really good.

I haven't really had many burgers around town yet, but I think I'll be hard pressed to find a place that knows hamburgers as well as Mike's. And the price is comparable to somewhere like Smashburger, with much more meat for your money. I'll be back for another one soon.
